Website Design South Africa

Website Design South Africa — built to convert.

Custom websites for SA businesses that get you found on Google and turn visitors into paying clients. Full websites from R11,500. Need something smaller? Our One Page Website starts at R3,690.

Written quote within 24 hours. Every time.

Website design in South Africa covers everything from a R3,000 template with your logo dropped in to a six-figure corporate platform. Most businesses need neither. What they need is a site that loads fast on a phone, explains clearly what they sell, shows up when someone Googles the service plus the suburb, and makes enquiring effortless.

That's what we build. Big Mood Agency is a Cape Town studio working with businesses across South Africa — Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, small towns in between. Our prices are published: The Lead Engine at R11,500, Category Owner at R19,500, a One Page Website at R3,690 and Store Launch from R24,500. You own the domain, the hosting and every file at the end of it.

How a website gets built

Five stages. You always know what happens next, what we need from you and when the site goes live.

  1. 1. Written quote in 24 hours

Tell us what the site needs to do. You get scope, price and timeline in writing within a day — no discovery-call gate before you can see a number.

  2. 2. Structure and copy

We map the pages and the path a visitor takes to enquire, then write or refine the copy. This stage decides whether the site converts.

  3. 3. Design sign-off

You approve the homepage and an inner page as full designs, with two rounds of revisions included, before any development begins.

  4. 4. Build, SEO and testing

Mobile-first development, on-page SEO and schema on every page, forms and WhatsApp wired up, then real-device testing from 360px.

  5. 5. Launch and handover

Analytics and Search Console connected, sitemap submitted, every credential handed to you. First month of care is free.

What's actually included

Every Big Mood website ships with the same foundation, whichever tier you choose: mobile-first responsive layouts tested from 360px upward, on-page SEO and schema markup on every page, Google Analytics and Search Console connected, a sitemap submitted, lead capture forms that land in your inbox, WhatsApp click-to-chat, and image compression and speed work so the site loads in under three seconds on a mobile connection.

Moving up a tier buys depth rather than a different foundation. Category Owner adds professional copywriting, a custom design system rather than a styled template, blog architecture so you can publish content that ranks, advanced schema markup, AI search optimisation and a 90-day optimisation window after launch. Enterprise Build is for multi-location, multi-service businesses that need integrations and custom functionality.

Ownership matters more than most people realise. The domain, hosting account and source files are registered in your name and handed over at launch. After launch a website still needs hosting, SSL, backups, security monitoring and updates: Always On covers that from R750/month, or R1,950/month for Always On Plus with unlimited small content changes and monthly reporting. Your first month is free with any build.

Selling online: WooCommerce or Shopify

An online shop is a different build to a brochure site. You need a product catalogue, a payment gateway South Africans trust, delivery rules that reflect what couriers actually charge, and a checkout short enough that people finish it. We build on WooCommerce when you want to own the whole stack and keep monthly costs down, and Shopify when you'd rather pay a subscription and never think about hosting or updates.

Both come set up for PayFast and Yoco. Store Launch starts at R24,500 and includes catalogue setup, delivery configuration and up to 50 products loaded.
